Hello,I have RA2 and Yuri Revenge installed on my PC at the moment while running Windows 10. There are a few things you'll have to do. After installing it, go to the folder you installed it to (default is C:WestwoodRA2OR C:Program Files (x86)Origin GamesCommand and Conquer Red Alert II if you're running it through Origin) find the following.exe'sGame.exe and gameMD.exe right click them, select properties, and under the compatibility tab select run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2, also check off the box that says 'run as administrator'.That alone will allow the game to run, but it will be pretty laggy in-game. To help with the lag find the.ini files in the same folder listed above, they are 'ra2.ini and ra2md.ini' open them with notepad and under section titled Video add the followingline'VideoBackBuffer=nooptionally you can also change your resolution to a higher one, as the game forces you to play on a lower resolution because its so old, but you can play on 1920x1080 if you monitor supports it. Below is an example of my ra2.ini video section:VideoScreenWidth=1920ScreenHeight=1080StretchMovies=noVideoBackBuffer=noOne thing to note is, you cannot minimize once the game is loaded or it will crash. I'm not sure how to fix that yet.Lastly, if you want even less lag in-game there is a third party patch to speed up in-game graphics, you can find it on the RA2 Online ladders website (xwis)steps to apply that patch are located in that forum post, as well a a download to the patch itself. Also as a last thing, in windows 10 the MS Xbox DVR app forces VSync to be turned on.

I have a 144hz monitor and it was forcing my refresh rate to 60 which made the game feel sluggish. If you don't use the Xbox app, you can remove it using powershell by opening powershell as an administrator and pasting in this line:Get-Appxpackage.xbox. Remove-AppxPackageThis will allow the game to run in whatever your monitors refresh rate is set to.Have fun.
I use more than one nick:SI dont see why olaf would care soo much that people have a program to replace nicks QUICKLY. You still need a legit serial, and if you have more than one serial, you dont have to be sure to register that nick name through the comp that THAT serial is installed on.Like me for example. I have 3 copies of RA2 (i know, way too many ). One is on My computer, the other's installed on my step dad's, then i have a third im letting a friend borrow.

XWIS (short for eXtended Westwood Internet Server) is a community-run. Panel, after which nicknames need to be formed and assigned to serial keys. The code for the World Domination modes featured in Firestorm, Red Alert 2 and Yuri's. These servers (together with the XCL ladder) have been created to keep legacy games such as Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge going for a long time to come. The XCL ladder and XWIS servers mean that Ra2 and YR fans can continue to enjoy the online experience with a fully supported ladder and servers.
I have a nick i wont ever delete (chrono69x) registered, a nick i made for a m8 (wont say what it is ) and another nick set aside for private QMing for when im just screwing about. That's usually not a problem, but right now My computer is dead, and the three nicks i currently have are all registered on my step dad's comp serial. I have no clue what the nicks registered on my computer are, so i couldn't delete them even if i wanted to until it starts working again. So even though i have 3 RA2's, i cannot make anymore nicks without deleting one. This program is ideal for someone in my situation.Edited by Chrono69x, 14 May 2004 - 06:30 PM.
